About

I've been writing Rust professionally since 2016, starting at a cloud infrastructure company where I helped build distributed systems handling millions of requests per second. I became a core contributor to the Tokio project in 2018 and have since focused on making async Rust more accessible to newcomers.

My sessions focus on practical, real-world async patterns — not just theory. We'll work through your actual codebase, debug tricky lifetime issues in async contexts, and build intuition for when to use channels vs shared state vs message passing.

I especially love helping developers who are coming from Go or Node.js understand the Rust async model and why it's fundamentally different (and more powerful).

Open-Source Contributions

tokio-rs/tokio — Core runtime optimizations & task scheduling
tokio-rs/tracing — Structured logging instrumentation
hyperium/hyper — HTTP/2 connection pooling
tower-rs/tower — Service middleware and load balancing

Yuki helped me understand Pin and Unpin in a way that finally clicked. We refactored my entire async pipeline in one session. Incredible.

Best investment in my Rust learning journey. Yuki spotted a subtle race condition in my code within 5 minutes.

Patient, thorough, and deeply knowledgeable. Went from confused about Futures to implementing my own Stream adapter.
