About

I maintain several crates in the serde ecosystem and have spent the last 5 years deep in Rust's type system. My speciality is helping developers write expressive, zero-cost abstractions using generics, trait bounds, and procedural macros.

If you've ever stared at a wall of trait bound errors and felt lost, I'm your person. I'll help you read those errors, understand what the compiler is actually asking for, and build mental models for how Rust's type system works.

I also love helping teams design clean public APIs for their Rust libraries — figuring out the right balance between flexibility and ergonomics.

Marcus walked me through writing my first derive macro from scratch. His explanations of TokenStreams are the best I have found anywhere.

Finally understand GATs and associated types. Marcus has a gift for making complex concepts feel intuitive.
